FAQ

What is a livescan?

Live Scan is a way to take inkless fingerprints, which are then digitalized and transmitted directly to the Department of Justice (DOJ, Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and possible additional entities.

How much does it cost?

Our rolling fee is $17, however depending on the type of livescan required there may be additional charges (DOJ: $32 , FBI: $17, and more). The cost of your livescan depends on the information on your personal live scan form. Please call our office so we can further assist with the cost of your livescan.

What do I need to bring with me?

You must bring a completed livescan form with you along with along with a  picture identification, such as: United States issued driver’s license/identification or valid passport with a United States visa.

Where do I find the livescan form I need?

Forms are given to the applicant by the agency sending the applicant in for the Live Scan. We cannot provide you with a livescan form (unless you are completing a Personal Record Review).

Do I need an appointment?

You can visit either of our offices on a walk-in basis Monday-Friday.

Saturday's are on an appointment only basis, please call in advance to schedule.

How long does the process take?

Wait time varies on the date and time of your appointment. The average appointment time to get in and out of the office is ten minutes.

I had a livescan done before do I need to do it again?

Yes, because the DOJ does not share your information with other agencies. You must submit a new application each time a criminal history is requested of you.
